Behind the Scenes of HackTheSystem CTF
Looking back on HackTheSystem, I feel proud of the work our team put into making the competition happen. EagleDefenders served as the technical team for this CTF, hosted by the IEEE Computer Society SESAME Student Branch and the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society SESAME Student Branch.
As part of the team, I helped create challenges and prepare the competition experience behind the scenes. Together, we worked on the event’s technical setup, infrastructure, and monitoring so participants could focus on exploring the challenges and enjoying the competition.
The most rewarding part was seeing participants bring their curiosity, persistence, and teamwork to each challenge. Watching people collaborate, test their ideas, and celebrate their progress reminded me why events like this matter: they create an encouraging space to learn cybersecurity through hands-on experience.
Organizing a CTF is a team effort, and I am grateful to everyone who made it possible. Thank you to the IEEE organizing committees for trusting EagleDefenders, to our challenge authors and technical team for their dedication, and to every participant who brought energy to the event. It was a memorable experience to help create a space for learning, challenge, and innovation.
