Learning Beyond the Classroom: Congresses, Connections, and Memories

University is about more than exams, deadlines, and projects. Some of the most meaningful lessons happen when we step outside the classroom: listening to people with different experiences, sharing ideas with new friends, and discovering how broad the digital world really is.

During my academic years, I have attended more than five professional congresses and events exploring cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, marketing, and other areas of technology. Each gathering brought its own atmosphere: inspiring talks from professionals and professors, practical activities, teamwork, and conversations that continued long after a session ended.

Learning from people and perspectives

One of the best parts has been meeting students, professors, and professionals from Tunisia and around the world, including Germany, France, Ukraine, India, and many other places. Hearing how people approach technology, education, and their future careers has broadened my perspective and reminded me that learning is a shared experience.

Events such as TEK-UP Digital Congress and Digital Future 6.0 brought together people interested in the future of technology and digital society. I enjoyed moving between talks and discussions, discovering new subjects, and asking questions that made me think beyond what I was studying at the time.

From ideas to hands-on experiences

The events were not only about sitting in an audience. Hackathons and collaborative activities gave us the chance to work together, exchange ideas, and put our curiosity into practice. Whether the topic was cybersecurity, AI, marketing, or another part of the digital landscape, these experiences showed me how much can happen when people with different skills come together.

I also valued hearing directly from professionals and professors. Their stories connected what we learn at university with the challenges, opportunities, and innovations shaping the industry. I came away with new ideas to explore and a stronger motivation to keep learning.

Discovering Tunisia together

These experiences also gave me the chance to explore more of Tunisia. Trips connected with events took us from Hammamet and Sousse to Mahdia, with time to discover historic places and enjoy the scenery along the way. Sharing those moments with friends from different backgrounds made each visit feel special.

The talks and workshops taught me about the digital world; the journeys, meals, laughter, and conversations became memories I will carry with me. Some of my favorite parts were the simple in-between moments: getting to know people, taking photos together, and realizing that a professional event can also feel welcoming and fun.

More than a line on a CV

I am grateful for every opportunity to learn from professionals, connect with students from different countries, and experience new places while growing through my studies. These congresses have helped me build confidence, curiosity, and friendships, while reminding me that education is about both knowledge and the people we meet along the way.

Here is a small album of those experiences:
